They will tell you all about the park - including any special activities - and will schedule your tour of Kentucky Caverns. They are also available to answer any questions that you may have about Kentucky Down Under and the entire Cave Region. Here is a guide of what you can expect to do on a visit to Kentucky Down Under.

| Terra Rosella | Kentucky Caverns | Bird Garden | Land of Lories | Camp Corroboree | Dog Herding Demo | Scales and Tales | Outback Walkabout | Woolshed | Outback Cafe' | Giftshop |

Terra Rosella -

Your first stop on a visit to Kentucky Down Under will take you to one of our two walk in aviaries - Terra Rosella. An interpreter will be happy to give you a cup of seed so you can hand feed the colorful budgies as they fly all around you. Plus you can observe beautiful Australian Finches and other native birds. Expect to spend between 15 and 20 minutes at Terra Rosella.

Kentucky Caverns -

This is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible caves in the US. Kentucky Caverns was discovered in 1799, and opened to public tours in 1922. Tours of Kentucky Caverns are scheduled throughout the day and no prior reservations are necessary. The tour is approximately 45 minutes. This is an active cave: when it rains, the water drips down through the ground and into the cave continually creating new formations! There are many different formations to behold in the cave, such as stalagmites and stalactites, cave popcorn and cave cauliflower. Unsure what cave popcorn or cave cauliflower are? Your interpreter will be happy to explain.

    Bird Garden -

Get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most unique birds in our Bird Garden. This area allows you to observe strange and wonderful birds, each in their own large cage. Meet the Laughing Kookaburra, and hear why he’s sometimes called the "Bushman’s Alarm Clock". This is a self guided tour so you can spend as much time as you like.

    Land of Lories -

The Land of Lories is a giant enclosure that houses stunning, colorful lorikeets. An interpreter at the entrance to the Aviary will be happy to give you a cup of nectar and lead you into the area. Once inside, hold the nectar cup out, and these brilliant, inquisitive birds will land on your head, shoulders and arms and will help themselves to your nectar cup until it’s all gone. You can expect to spend around 15 to 20 minutes inside the Land of Lories.

    Camp Corroboree -

In Australian Aboriginal culture, a Corroboree is a gathering, much like a Native American Pow Wow. At Kentucky Down Under, the Camp Corroboree, is where you will be introduced to the Aboriginal culture. During the 45-minute presentation, the interpreter will explain how these fascinating people adapted to their environment and how they found everything they needed from nature. Learn about some of their tools, instruments and customs. Hear the interpreter play a didgeridoo, and then try to play it yourself. It's not as easy as it looks!

    Dog Herding Demo -

Watch our amazing border collies and their experienced handlers, work a flock of sheep in an open field. Find out why this is so important to the Aussie way of life and the benefits the dogs have on a working sheep station.

    Scales and Tales -

Kentucky Down Under presents its special reptile program with snakes, lizards, and other fascinating creatures. Find out why reptiles are so important to the circle of life.

    Outback Walkabout -

Take a stroll through the Outback, and encounter Australia’s favorite animals. This 30-minute guided tour will bring you up-close to kangaroos, wallabies and emus. You may even get the chance to pet one of these distinctive animals. You’ll see the fascinating black swans, and meet the white ibis, and find out why it can eat poisonous frogs and still survive!

    Woolshed-

Step into the shed for a 45-minute presentation about life on a working sheep staion where you might get to milk a cow, or feed the lambs. Enjoy the parade of rams - nine different kinds of rams take the stage while the interpreter explains what's different about each breed, and what their different wools are used for.

    Outback Cafe -

An expedition through the Land Down Under can make an explorer hungry. Luckily, the Outback Café stands ready to help. Enjoy a variety of salads, sandwiches and our famous Bison Burgers that are hearty and healthy.

    Giftshop and Fudge Factory -

What trip to the Land Down Under would be complete without something to take home to remember it by? The Gift Shop is packed with souvenirs, from stuffed animals to jewelry to hats and t-shirts. There's stuff for the kids, and stuff for mom and dad. You can even buy your very own boomerang or didgeridoo. Whatever you do, make sure you don't leave Kentucky Down Under without trying the famous homemade fudge.
